Arizona and New Mexico Churches
St. Joseph's in Many Farms Arizona is a house church next to the red bluffs. Gardens grow and sheep and horses graze nearby. The traditional hogan is being outfitted to be the next Episcopal church in Navajoland! We are getting ready to put on a new roof and repair the inside, including a repair to the wood stove, shown in the picture below. If you would like to partner with St. Joseph, please give us a call. We would be so happy to have partners on this part of the Reservation and with St. Joseph.
Good Shepherd Mission is part of the Episcopal Church of Navajoland area mission. We have three churches: St. Mark’s in Coalmine NM and St. Joseph’s in Many Farms, AZ. A nonprofit organization started in 1880’s as a medical mission to the Navajo. We have 50 acres in this high desert and canyon land. 12 buildings, most of them 100 years old. We incorporate many elements of Navajo spirituality, including our version of the Blessingway Prayer and are a destination for mission groups and retreatants looking for beauty, quiet and harmony with the earth.
St Mark's is located in Coalmine, New Mexico, a beautiful place nestled in the curve of the mountains, an 8-mile drive from Good Shepherd Mission. Sunday Holy Communion is at 8 a.m. Watch out for lots of cakewalks, busy vacation bible school and a committed core who love their church. Facebook page is St. Marks Church Navajoland.
