Missionary Diocese of Navajoland
Meet the Nominees
It is with deep gratitude and joy that we share the news of two faithful leaders who have been called forward as candidates to serve as the first Bishop Diocesan of our diocese. We give heartfelt thanks for the devoted ministry of Bishop David Bailey, whose wisdom and love guided us for many years until his retirement in 2023 and his passing in 2024. We also give thanks for the steady leadership and care of Bishop Barry Beisner, who has walked with us in this season of transition. As we continue this sacred journey of discernment, we hold in prayer all who have listened deeply and offered themselves in service to God’s work among our people, our communities, and the beauty of our sacred lands.

We are honored to share with you our Diocesan Profile
Yáʼátʼééh!
This moment marks a sacred step forward in our journey together as we prepare to welcome our first bishop. We offer deep gratitude for the prayers, stories, and voices that have brought us to this point. Through conversation, memory, and shared hope, we envisioned a leadership rooted in service, healing, and kinship.
This profile is more than a document. It carries our collective story woven from our past, our mission, and our sacred relationships. It is written by us, for us, and with us. These are our words. This is who we are.
We invite you to help us share the profile throughout your communities, congregations, and Episcopal circles. Nominations and applications will be received through September 30.
As we move into this next season of discernment, we ask for your continued prayers:
— Pray for our Search Committee as we listen deeply and move forward with care.
— Pray for our diocese as we hold this time of transition with hope and trust.
— Pray for those who feel called by the Spirit through the words of our profile, that they may have the courage to respond.
With faith and unity,
The Episcopal Church in Navajoland
