Learn About General Convention – Monthly

May 6 @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm

As the Episcopal Church prepares for the 2027 General Convention in Phoenix, the Diocese of Navajoland will be offering a monthly Zoom series to help us learn more about the Episcopal Church, its governance, and why General Convention matters.

These gatherings are open to all—clergy, lay leaders, and anyone who is curious about how the Church makes decisions, discerns together, and lives out its mission.

Ongoing schedule:
First Wednesday of each month, 6:00–7:00 PM

The series will follow a three-phase arc:

Phase 1 – Foundations (Feb–Jun 2026)
Who we are, how the Church works, and why General Convention matters

Phase 2 – How General Convention Actually Works (Jul–Dec 2026)
Resolutions, committees, governance, and the role of deputies

Phase 3 – Practicing the Work (Jan–Jun 2027)
Discernment, collaboration, and readiness to serve

Each session will include guest speakers, short explainer videos, Episcopal Church documents, and suggested readings.

General Convention deputies are especially encouraged to attend as part of their preparation, and we warmly welcome anyone else who would like to learn alongside them.
